First of a series of six pictures for a Naruto fan calendar.
One day I woke up and decided "hey, there's not enough bad Naruto fanart out on the world wide web; it's high time I made my contribution!"
Just kidding. XD
Um. What to say. This calendar project has eaten about two months of my life, because I'm an absymally slow artist (my uni grades are suffering, I swear it). Haven't drawn pictures featuring more than one person for an age an a half; haven't coloured in a non-cel style for possibly even longer. This would also be my first time using Painter... with not too fantastic results. :/ (I should probably explore some of the other tools, rather than sticking to "Pen: Flat Colour" and "Eraser: Flat Eraser".)
I seriously need to learn colour theory. My colour choice is appalling, and the only reason this looks halfway decent is because I discovered that Photoshop's layer blending options are a GODSEND. It's just a shame you can't see the detailed blending I did, because this baby's at 600dpi A4 size, and eating my harddrive like there's no tomorrow. Five more to complete in two days! *panics*
Well, you never come to screenings any more, and lately I haven't either because I've been doing my research year...it'll be great catching up with you! ^^

Awesome I can't use painter to save my life...seriously....all i can use is the 'coloured pencil' tool...>_< but omg, 600 dpi!!!!?!??!?!?!?! gawd, and my computer is slow at 400 dpi...nooo!! how do you cope!?!?! anyway, good luck completing them!! i've given up on some of mine, and for the rest of em i'm just chucking in random photoshop effects and hoping it looks ok
I can't either! *wails* I have no idea what everyone else is using - I suspect the Oils option or Simple Water<?i> or whatever they are, plus a few of the blenders - basically I'm colouring the same as I do on PS, which defeats the purpose of using Painter.
Besides, you do a swell job as is on OpenCanvas, you don't even need to use Painter.
And yeah, I reckon half the reason these are taking me so long is I'm waiting forever for them to zoom in and save. Next time it's definitely 300dpi. T_T
